The Fall Of Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut certainly isn't what it used to be. Despite once being the world's leading pizza chain, the days of going for a Dine In meal with the family on a Friday night have slowly been replaced with Uber Eats and Domino's delivery. As a result, Pizza Hut hasn't been doing so well. This video will cover that decline.

This is, Pizza Hut Has Been Failing.

Thank you guys for watching, like and sub if you enjoyed, SunnyV2 XO ❤

Only Sunny can make a pizza company failing sound like a dire situation with world shattering consequences

I honestly think one of the main reasons Pizza Hut is going downhill is how the quality of ingredients declined rapidly over the years, precut ingredients and frozen premade dough was shipped in boxes. Not only that but it was also 'cooked' by a team with little to no training and low pay causing massive employee turnover. It seems like Pizza Hut 'outpizzad' themselves and it's a shame to see this happen

having worked at a red roof for years and then moving to a delivery store I can tell you Pizza Hut fell into the corporate greed trap of profits over product. going from fresh dough made twice daily to frozen dough. charging more for a 14 inch large frozen than they used to charge for a 15 inch fresh.

I’m former pizza delivery driver from the mid nineties. Pizza Hut started reducing the quality of their toppings. They switched to vegetables in bags. Fresh dough was traded for frozen. Even the meat quality was reduced. Pizza Hut has been living off their former glory. In the eighties to mid nineties they were the king of pizza!

Growing up I could never get Pizza Hut. It’s was considered the luxury high end pizza that wasn’t affordable to my family 😢

The saddest part is that, if you look around hard enough, you can still find a dine-in location that remains in business, but this will only tease you into thinking the experience you remember from your childhood is still available when all that awaits you is a poor shadow of it. It sometimes takes me a number of visits that I excuse as having picked a bad location or come on an off-day before I give up and accept that certain chains I once loved are not what they once were.

Take it from someone who used to work for them back in the they switched to premade dough and using cheaper ingredients, the pizza started tasting blah and crappy. it didnt stand out anymore. I started out being a dough girl and i would get there at like 7 in the morning to start making it from scratch, had to mix it all, let it rise, then it was ready for opening time. Made all the difference in the world. Those personal pan pizzas used to be the absolute bomb, now they taste like cardboard.

There is a line I remember from a book on business management - "You can make your pizza so cheap that nobody wants to eat it." I feel like that's a major part of PH's problem.

Pizza Hut used to be everywhere in Australia, back when pizzas were almost a novelty here (1970s), but they've pretty much disappeared now. Dominos took up some slack, plus a few local chains, PLUS a crapload of single businesses that ALL can produce a decent-plus pizza with extras at a reasonable price.

I've always had a soft spot for Pizza Hut, my grandmother worked there for years and would always bring some leftovers after work. She loved it there and would have worked there for even longer if it weren't for health complications. She still loved that place dearly up until she passed a few years ago despite it feeling like the pizza wasn't as good as all those years ago.

The dine-in experience at Pizza Hut back in the 80s-90s was awesome.

I have the most fond memories of dine in all you can eat "the works" at Pizza Hut in Austraila in the 90s. I hear it wasn't a thing in the US, but we had the pizza, salad and pasta bar but also a dessert bar. As a kid, that was HEAVEN. It was like being at an ice cream parlour and you could help yourself! All the soft serve, chocolate mousse, toppings and even jello (to use US terms) that you could want. It was freaking heaven.

I knew someone that was a prep chef in a Pizza Hut for years. She went in early every morning to chop and prep all the ingredients for the day's pizzas. She said the decline started when corporate started using pre prepped and packaged lower quality ingredients. It was my favorite pizza at one time but I won't even consider eating it anymore. It's just bad now. I'd be willing to bet a similar reason is why Subway has sucked so much in recent years and is nowhere as good as it once was. I won't eat there anymore either.

I walked into a pizza hut the other day for a bathroom break on a long drive and it was the most heartbreaking sight ever: no customers, only one staff, most of the chairs were put away, and only half the restaurant was lit, so it was pretty dim inside.

When I was a kid, there was a pizza hut right outside my apartment, and my parents would go there all the time because they had a kids-eat-free night... it is such a far cry from what it once was and it's genuinely depressing.

Pizza Hut used to be a restaurant. Now it's an assembly line for fast food.

I worked at Pizza Hut in the mid 70's. Gourmet pizza and salad dressings. Incredible Italian food too. Now it's one sad place.

I was a kid in the 80's and i remember the interior of a pizza hut was so unique. It was so dark in there and the colored glass on the lampshades above each table cast a redish orange hue on everything. Also, as a kid this wasn't an everyday thing to have pizza or even go to a place that had arcade games. The arcade game room was almost pitch black and full of kids every time I went. The whole experience is cemented into my memory because of the whole 80's vibe it had. There was never a place more 1980's than Pizza Hut back then.

I just hate that they're so expensive. I got a 12" with breadsticks for some friends and I and it came out to $25. That's ridiculous. I get a better pizza at the local chain for half the price.

They put a "no dining in" sign up for covid and never took it down. Now they're essentially a delivery center with a depressing hangout area.

When I was a kid in the 1970's, Pizza Hut pizza tasted so good it was addictive. Back then the dough was made in house from scratch, whereas today the dough is frozen and shipped to the restaurants. Their cheese also tasted better back then.
