As an iranian sunni Muslim, it saddens me to see the centre for the islamic golden age is no longer iran.
We used to contribute the most to the golden age.
Many of the scholars and scientists were iranian.
May God guide us all to sirat al-mustaqim again.

How did Iran become shia? Simple, the Saffavids literally forced people to convert from Sunni Islam to Shia by the sword. However, the Baluch, Kurds, Turkmen etc are still Sunni. Small minority of Persians are Sunni but vast majority are shia.

May Allah unite us Muslims.

The sects are fighting in the replies 😢

One of the weirdest twists in history: while the Persians (not Arabs) brought Turks to Sunni Islam, Turks brought Persians to shiism - with the final result that Turks, in the form of the Ottomans, became the symbol of orthodox Sunni fighting against Persians as the representatives of Shiism.

I'm proud of us Kurds who didn't succumb to the Safavids forced conversions. Many sunni Kurds who held high positions in the Safavid court defected to the Ottoman side, such as the famous warrior and historian Sharaf Khan Bedlisi, who held the title of "Emir of Emirs" in the Safavid empire but defected.

I as a Shia muslim support unity of sunni & shia, especially against a common enemy that wants to harm our religion.
We should not diminish our distinct and different beliefs but respect each other and work together in times of need.
At the end of the day we are brothers and sisters in islam regardless of our respective denomination.

I was waiting for a video like this. Jazak'Allah khairen Omar.
Not many know Iran was a sunni nation 400 years ago.

We shouldn't be divided, we should be united.

It’s a tragedy for Islam that this split occurred and has weakened Muslim Unity in the Middle East forever!

The beard suits you and gives more masculine and bold look. It is also fardh upon all Muslim men to let the beards grow.
Allow us a chance to see one of the few Turkish men with full beard and remember our Caliphate days❤

Iran has a fusion culture of Zoroastrianism, Manicheism, Mithraism, Shia/Sunni Islam.
It's not easily explainable in a video.
Many "middle East" experts go to Morocco and then think they know something about Iran.
Iran is unique. Totally different to any other country on this planet.

The Ottomans would have waved jihad against the Spanish Ferdinand and Isabella or the kings and queens that followed if not for the constant troubles that were brought onto them from their own backyard i.e. the Shiite Safavids. The Ottomans were always watching their backs and this had wasted a lot of their time and resources from helping their own brothers in Andalusia and opening new frontiers in Europe.
