Spring is here and it's time to refresh my closet! I'm getting a bit ruthless this time and decluttering a bunch of clothes I made myself. Hurts, but needed to happen. I'm also bringing back some spring/summer favourites to get excited for the upcoming seasons. Enjoy watching!

Also, you'll be glad to hear that after filming I ironed everything in my closet 😂 Wrinkle-free club!

You could dye the red pants if you don’t wear bright red! Either dye it blue to make them purple, brown to make them redish-brown, or black… A bit of a risk but it might be worth it! I dyed lots of my colorful clothes brown to make them more muted 😅

You might want to consider cotton batiste for the shirt replacement. It's slightly seethrough, 80 g/m2 - rather thin and cold in touch (which is lovely in summer). It's lighweight, soft draping and generally cheap (at least in Poland) :)

This has made me realize that after I move, I really need to do this rotating wardrobe. Then I won't get bored of all my clothes as much or always wear the same thing because of decision fatigue. Thank you so much for your wonderful video.

Congrats on your hand knit sweater! Turned out beautiful!

For the sweat smell, soak the garment in a solution of oxiclean and water for a couple of hours, then rinse well and wash it normally. This will break down any organic compounds in the fibers. I've used this trick many times, and it works wonders.

Love a good declutter!

Agree with the linen suggestions from other commenters. When shopping keep in mind it gets softer with wear.
If you're looking for a more silky option consider ecovero (more sustainable alternative to viscose) or tencel/lyocell (similar). Linen holds up to washing and wearing better though, and is lighter / more "fresh" to wear.

As for the polyester getting stinky, a) relatable, and b) there is actual research on why this is, Kristina Vike did a video on the topic recently (very interesting, highly recommend).

I would go with either linen or viscose for the blouse! Viscose is made of cellulose but quite processed so it’s technically natural material ^_^

Wait, hold on, you made that sweater?!?!? Thats incredible!

A suggestion to replace polyester. Viscose! I love it; flowy, light or jersey weight as you need, and drapes really well. I always thought is was manmade. It isn't, it's wood based made from cellulose from fast growing trees. 'Viscose is derived from the 'cellulose' or wood pulp from fast growing, regenerative trees such as eucalyptus, beech and pine, as well as plants such as bamboo, soy and sugar cane.'

For the polyester blouses, try rinsing them in diluted vinegar and letting them air dry. It won't eliminate the problem, but it'll take longer before they start to smell.

Watching these over the years, it's obvious that you have really found your style now! It was fun guessing if you would keep an item or not, your decisions felt very cohesive.

If you freeze the woollen trousers for a night or two and shake them out after thawing, it will be less itchy. And washing them in a proper wool detergent will soften them too.

Lucy, try a cotton voile for your blouses. It's light weight and plant based. I love the fabric and find myself making more and more dresses and shirts out of it.

For your alternative fabrics for blouses, there are actually quite a few: as some have mentioned, linnen. Lightweight linnen has this nearly transparent property, and yes, with more wear it gets softer. You can still cut it on the bias for a nicer draping, if you wish but then i absolutely recommend to do the hem last - leave it on a hanger for at least 24 hours, to let it stretch out, then cut it into the same length again and hem it.
Same for cotton, i have a nearly transparent blouse of very light weight cotton (i think it's batist or voile), and you can work with it on the bias in the same way or just normally on the grain. Sadly it has the typical cotton properties and is just a bit more 'frail'.
Another alternative could be viscose (the chemical to produce it IS quite dangerous, but with proper safety measures it gets neutralized completely in the end - except the times when it goes wrong in the chines production companies and especiall the workers there have a ruined health), or for a safer - and more expensive - alternative you can get ecovero, modal, tencel, lyocell. As far as known the chemicals to produce those aren't harmful. Anyway, with those fibers there are fabrics that are called 'synthetic silk', as they are still man made fibers (with all the good properties of natural fibers though) and they DO simulate silk to the T. I have a blouse made of viskose silk and it's absolutely lovely.

And lastly, there are blends of all those fibers, that give you lots of options. I have recently seen a silk thin fabric that was 60% modal and 40%linnen and i'm gonna buy it soon once i get that one mc calls dress pattern i want to make out of it. Kinda pricey though.

I’m so happy you didn’t get rid of that first white sweater. It’s so pretty 😍

Thanks for addressing about the smell issue with synthetic! When I was still trying to wear this kind of shirt, I would wear a cotton tshirt under

Cotton lawn will give you that same drape as the thin polyester, and it's cotton!

Your white poly shirt - Deconstruct the shirt, take a pattern from it and use cotton voile, lawn, batiste or cheesecloth.
Or you could try putting a 1/4 cup white vinegar in the rinse cycle when you wash it and air dry it. It should help with the smell.
