This is probably the clearest advice about air layering I’ve ever heard, the toothpick just snapped the whole concept into my brain. Thank you!!

My mother in law planted a rubber tree she received when her mother passed away. Today that rubber tree is 65+ yrs old and massive! It shades us and three neighbors, it’s a beauty🙌

Brilliant. I just lost 70% of my leaves through overwatering and those that remain aren’t overly pretty. I think it’s time to try your rooting technique AND take out/change/refresh the soil to check for any stagnant water. My rubber plant and I thank you. 👩🏻‍🌾🇬🇧

I have had mine for 2.5 years 6 ft away from a south window, I rotate it once a week and only water it when it is dry, I clean the leaves once a month, it never seems to stop growining and the colours are amazing, it is one of my favourites and it is so easy.

My grandmothers rubber tree is about 29 years old, she had it as a house plant for the longest time and when we moved to Texas in 2004 we planted it in the bank yard and that thing has grown like crazy!

Never seen a tiny rubber plant.. Only seen them super large.. My granddad might have seen them tiny when he planted them in our plantation. Lovely to see it tiny.. Feel kinda nostalgic.. Rubber trees.. Narrow twisty village roads ..mossy walls.. River to jump in when it got too hot.. Which was always. Some days I wish I could take people to that place I learnt so much.

Thanks for the helpful info, great video!

On propogation, I've found success just leaving a cutting in a vase of water mixed with rooting hormone for a week, removing excess leaves, and then planting.
