Does the "total run" include the projection of the first nosing, if there is one? This is an issue if there is a door swinging in towards the stairs at the bottom of the run.

You didn't mention that almost everyone cuts these out and realizes they have an extra step they don't need. Yes you do exactly as you said to calculate the measurements, but your landing counts as your first step, so you won't need one of them when you cut out your stringer.
