They tried to humanize the mother but i had no sympathy for her in the end. She scolded her lady in waiting for crying for her brother but she broke down as soon as her son went to war. Such a hypocrite.

Can’t wait for season 3! It will be interesting seeing as how season 2 ended. You mentioned Elizabeth’s mental health. I wonder if having to switch the carefree lifestyle that she was used to into ruling her kingdom will get to her.

A cool thing I noted was the directors decision to having Elizabeth go down to Sophie’s level at the end. Could this mean she will eventually become more cold hearted as her mother in law because she has to for Austria? She did change her mind about sending her sister to marry knowing it wasn’t the right thing to do.

I love this series. Although it is a complete fantasy and Elisabeth was a selfish, vain and cruel person in reality.
