Fun fact: her suggesting to give “more independence“ would have probably avoided the end of the Austrian empire, it would have transformed, but maybe her “stupid ideas” would have made a change, there could have been a constitutional monarchy, but they loved the authoritarian regime.

The fact that it's taken two years for the second season to release is ridiculous, this is a six episode per season show with minimal CGI and special effects. To have that long a wait between seasons is crazy and I'd love to know the reason why, either way I'm very excited to watch this new season. P.S I love Elizabeth and Maximilian, wish they were married instead of her and Franz.

They portray Franz Joseph and Sisi as far more competent than either of them actually were. In less than a decade, Franz Joseph literally undid everything that Schwarzenberg had accomplished. We already saw the show take an extremely revisionist telling of Austria and the Crimean War. 

I wonder what the time frame for Season 2 will be. It looks like Victor Emmanuel of Sardinia at 1:26 discussing war which would indicate we might get the Second Italian War of Independence which was in 1859...
