The BOSU is a great therapeutic tool for ankle, knee, hip recovery, and stroke recovery. See also: Proprioception. The proprioceptive functions decline during the aging process, which has been associated with balance deficits. A poor balance and a poor proprioception function increase the likelihood of falls.

There are tons of evidence based studies that show that balance training works on the cerebellum which coordinates movement. In turn it also impacts the the areas of concentration, attentions, emotion control etc. It impacts your brain directly changing routs pf neural connection. It’s used on Adhd, Autism, Dislexia, diverse Brain Insults, physical therapy etc. That’s why health professionals use the bosu. Isolating the benefits to just the muscles has no sense. Mind and body connection is a must if one wants to improve in just about anything.

Message might have been better recieved if you didn't resort to name calling.

When he said the word Idiot, I lost my interest. Name-calling does not look professional nor makes his point more valid. This is more of his emotion than the information. I hope he will change your way to create content. I understand that he has his own way of communicating, but this way does not work for the rest of us here. I hope the best for him in creating good content, not name-calling others with different opinions. If I use his training service and make a mistake, he will call me a idiot for sure, making me. Sometimes, it's not what u think you know. It's how you treat others. I hope the best for this man. We can all learn from this and move on!

Novak Djokovic's personal trainer who is, it can be perfectly reasonably argued, partially responsible for Novak's staggering success on the tennis court uses BOSU ball with Novak... And, as everyone is aware, tennis is a game of balance. If you're not balanced when hitting the tennis ball, you're very unlikely to control the ball well... Clearly, author of this video doesn't know what he is talking about.

What is the goal of the exercise if to develop better balance (inner ear stuff) rather than muscle building???

You might want to do just a little research before you start calling things “stupid” and other people “idiots”…my goodness (smh)…

“Comparative Effects of Different Balance-Training–Progression Styles on Postural Control and Ankle Force Production: A Randomized Controlled Trial”

Conclusions:
A 4-week balance-training program consisting of dynamic unstable-surface exercises on a BOSU ball improved dynamic postural control and ankle force production in healthy young adults

I got back in to bike riding, so I'm working on my balance training to improve my BMX Riding better.

Truth! There are uses to sport specific bosuball or even swissball training but none of that should involve weights or bodyweight exercises. I was in my prime both lifting and doing BJJ.
I decided to try an exercise I saw a trainer demonstrate. You put your hands in the TRX straps and your shins on the swissball (DO NOT DO THIS). You then preformed jack knife pushup/flyes. (DO NOT TRY THIS)
I'd randomly throw these into my workouts with another winner, the burped kipping pullup. One day I got sweaty and the ball slipped out from under me and I tore my abs. I had 3 small hernias and have an injury that will always plague me, my abs are separated and can only be cosmetically repaired, with an out of pocket cost of 18k not covered by insurance. Listen to Jay he's 100% right!

I'm curious as to what is B.G. or CV is that enable him to make these statements, when so many others below seem to contradict him?
Btw, I've never done the Bosu Ball training so I don't have a dog in this fight!

Wow…I think you may want to stay in your “all show - no go” lane, my guy.

I’ve been a certified trainer since the mid-90s (CSCS, CES, TSAC-F), and I thought BOSU was a gimmick when it first came out. I couldn’t have been more WRONG.

I’ve successfully used the BOSU to help tons of clients. It’s especially useful when training people with multiple sclerosis, parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, and other neurological disorders. Don’t get me started on how effective it’s been for the many skiers and golfers I’ve trained (some of them pro).

For those of us that know, it’s painfully obvious that you don’t know. Please, for everyone’s sake, stay with what you understand.

This guy does not know what he is talking about. Bosu Ball is a great workout tool and should be incorporated into your workout.

How do you get better balance without training balance? Genuine question I have serious balance issues. I can’t even put socks on without tipping over. I need help. Here to learn.

Lol...how many 'fat' ice skaters do you see? Ballet dancers? Balance is vitally important...why NFL and NHL players as well as MLB? I think Einstein missed the bus...
