New California law allows non-U.S. Citizens to become police officers

Just remember, it’s a felony to lie to a police officer. But a police officer can lie to you saying he’s a citizen. police officers are legally allowed to lie, except under oath.

A " long " process to become a citizen due to the lengthy background checks , but yet fast track these non citizens to having a gun and the authority to take a person's life . Smh
They can do a shallow background check on these people but it won't extend to their history back in their country of origin .
They can be a criminal or associated with a criminal organization in their original country but the background checks will not go that far in finding out .

This is the most bone headed and dangerous law I have heard .

People who wants to be police officers want to go into law enforcement should become an American citizen. I am a naturalized American citizen and feel strongly about this!
