The Volkswagen Jetta is a fantastic option for someone who wants space, comfort and style for a sedan, and considering their current values, this could possibly be the most value-for-money premium sedan in the second hand market, but whats it like to drive? And if you want to actually buy one, what to look out for? We discuss all of this and more in this insightful review!

In 2012 when my father bought the Vento 1.6 TDi Jetta was my dream car but we couldn't afford that. And I've driven my Vento for almost 1.75L Kms, and it made me fall in love with VW engines. Now i've finally upgraded to Virtus GT Plus Manual this year but i still feel VW 1.0 cars were something else.

Jetta hgihtline after 2015 comes with VW MIB 2 headunit (more advanced than RCD series ) in stock, MIB 2 means it has App connect (includes android auto and apple car play wired but that needs to be acitvated or remove component protection, which cost 20-30k😂.
I owned Jetta 2016 TDI highline DSG, its a fantastic car no doubt. But all the great things said here are true, but thats just one side of the coin, coming to the other side, the car was discontinued by VW long back, so at the times of repair, its little tough to get the parts procured, most of the service centers says they dont have the parts readily available and one should place an order if you really need any of the part which would take from 2 weeks to 3 months depending on the part. Cannot trust the authenticity of the parts when procured from local market, even boodmo cant help. To sum up, its quite expenseive to maintain. For those who wants to see their car in perfect condition its little challenging, as they are aged, they will throw many repairs one after another. when you are buying used car, expect it to be the. most abused car. Most VW service centers are not helpful always in daignosing and rectifying the most issues. One thing with these german cars is they are over engineered and complicated. Not every mechanic can handle. If anybody is looking for jetta diesels, there are more tchances the cars ran over 1 lakh plus kilometer, whihc means they are ready for major service and should definitely look for possible wear and tear in many areas like timing kit, engine mounts, suspension ( linkrods, lower arms damphers/struts ball joints) all rubber parts, Clutch flywheel, and steering rack, crank shaft, axles etc. Atlest for me these all I need to replace. Not to mention electrical issues are very obvious. I ve spend close to 4 lakhs. To sum up its quite expensive to maintain. Old used cars obvioulsy comes with repairs. Despite all the unexpected reapairs, worries, once you drive, you will forget everything, Jetta never fails to put a smile on your face.

we owned a 2017 jetta highline tdi and we were able to hit 225+ kmph with 5 adults in the car with a full boot. That goes to show how good the engine is and the performance was just phenomenal.

I have a 2014 a4 and it’s one of the best decision I have made. The 2014 to 2017 cars are strong, classy, superior paint quality and what fun driving

Any recommendations for where to get the Apple car play unit ? I have a 2015 Jetta and haven’t been able to get the flush fitting Apple CarPlay. Agree with what you say, it’s a no nonsense fabulous to drive car. Once you are used to this car the next car really gets into the luxury segment

We bought a 2012 jetta in 2022 for 4 lakhs it was highline AT all in all got it for 4.4 including the registration, till now spent around 50k on repairs and service, when buying the car i had a extra budget of around 2-3 lakhs for repairs whenever the car needed repairs, now i will slowly start moding it maybe a lip spoiler, aluminium cold air intake, 3'' down pipe, 2015 gli front bumper, rear audi style lights, and a rear diffusior, rcd 340g, ambient light, wheels and tyres, all halogens to led, and at last round it all up with a detailing and ceramic coating work, all include we may end up spending around 2 lakh or more .
