I grew up wiccan, so funny story
When I was 5 I had pretty much zero understanding of the bible, Y’know cuz I was five and that’s not something I was taught about beyond the basics of heaven and hell and the lord and Satan. That was my understanding at the time.

But my best friend was christain, and one day she invited me over for a play date and her parents offered to have me over for supper so our play date didn’t have to end so soon. My parents agreed and I stayed for dinner.

In hindsight her parents had no idea I wasn’t Christian because they asked me if I wanted to say grace, and since I didn’t know what that was I said
“Ok…grace” and my friend leaned over and she whispered, “they mean the blessing” and I said “ohh. I don’t know what that is” and my friend explained in her five year old way “a blessing to thank god for the food and for everything your happy for” so i continued on my second attempt and said “thankyou GRACE for the food and for my dog” which got a chuckle from her dad but her mom just stared at me and then corrected me saying “we thank god, not grace. That’s the name of the blessing” and so I asked what I thought was a very reasonable question
“Ok, which god” I wasn’t invited over after that 😂
I just remember her mother gasping and her father saying something along the lines of
It’s not a big deal. Liza, why don’t you say grace instead and we can give your friend a break

That being said, me and my friend are still close as can be. She still likes to poke fun at me whenever we eat together saying “wanna say GRACE” it’s become a long term inside joke between us

I know some wiccans and their all very nice people. As someone else said, they seemed to worship nature rather than evil, stuff.

It's all about worldview perspectives. the problem with many Christian sects is that they believe their worldview is the one and only "true" worldview. If it's not God, you're mislead and actually worshipping Satan.

This is why I like pagans. They accept and acknowledge other worldviews and only ask that they be respected. As an atheist, I *love* discussing magick and deities with pagans. I've never heard a pagan say "You're wrong about your beliefs."

yeah. not everything revolves around your faith and beliefs. there are people who don't conceptualise god/good and satan/evil as the abrahamic faiths do. you have to learn to put yourself in other's shoes, to realise not everybody thinks the same as you. they are not non-believers, they're just people, and you're the one pushing your beliefs onto them.

She is right. And I believe that Satan is not at all connected with paganism. I practice Greek polytheism, and people call me evil for worshipping Zeus. There words would be real effective if I care about what they had to say
