The number one thing I wish I had learned sooner is that you don’t have to wait until your mental health is great to practice witchcraft. I stopped waiting around to be “well enough, ” and discovered I can use the craft to help me feel more centered and grounded, which has helped my mental health immensely.

I've been practicing since I was 13 years old. I am 60 now. My daughter has just recently found her witchy self, and came to me for guidance. I have incorporated my practice into every aspect of my life, and honestly, there's no longer any difference between my "spell work ", and my daily activities. I shared this video with her, as it is the best way I've found to give my daughter the proper outlook on beginning her own practice. THANKS!

"... It's more of an art form, than anything else, and everybody's practice is as unique to them, as a painting they would make."

Thank you. This statement is liberating.

As a person who was raised in a strict Christian household, something inside of me always was drawn and felt comfortable and familiar to me about the craft. I will never forget my first spell with my best friend as we light a candle and said our chant under the full autumn moon in a field surrounded by the woods of Maine. It was a special memory and that moment I felt connected to something bigger then myself and it felt so nice. I would try to practice witchcraft but then my families beliefs and my upbringing would scare me and shame me away from it. I did this a few times and now finally at 37 I am embracing who I am and what my heart desires which is to walk the way of the witch. I went through a dark night of the soul and tower moment in my life which opened my eyes and release me from the bondages of limiting beliefs and fears especially concerning religion dogma and the thought of hell as my punishment for my choice. I no longer live in fear and enjoy my life tremendously more walking the way of the witch. I love it and it feels so natural and familiar. I am thankful for my new found freedom and the love and enjoyment I have embracing my heart as a witches heart! Blessed be!

Thank you so much. I’m am a 58 year old man who has a lot of born abilities that I let fade away because of all the “You Must...” “You Can’t...” “A witch is...” “A Pagan is...” I have recently realized it is who I am. It’s not a choice, it’s a gift. I really appreciate your style and your demeanor. I have subscribed and I will definitely stay tuned for more of your wisdom. Thank you again.

I've been practicing for at least 40 years. I'm still learning. And felt the same way as you did. I still feel like I'm a beginner. ❤🙏❤

I've been studying and practicing for 25 years and I can tell you that you will never stop learning. That's part of the journey. This video is a beautiful reminder to witches of all ages and training that no matter how long you've been doing it, we can always learn and relearn things. You can't have proper spellwork without intention and putting your spirit into what you're doing. I appreciate you pointing that out. With the age of social media, many times there's more "decoration" but a lack of intention which is something I even noticed among people that liked the idea but never became serious about it even 25 years ago. Witchcraft is something in you that calls to you. You feel things that others may not nor have they awakened to yet. As you said, it should be something you enjoy, a place and time to manifest your energy to help those around you, a kinship with nature and understanding the light and dark of the world and how to navigate through that effectively and in a healthy manner. It's a thing of beauty and learning the old ways mixed with the modern. I bid you lots of learning and peace on your journey and thank you for this reminder!

A weight was lifted off my chest when I started witchcraft, it was the thing missing in my life.

Witchcraft is unique with each individual, for the most part, we don't even need the books and such because the magic comes within us. We don't even need to speak spells in different languages, we can actually create our own spells. What works for others may not work for us, we tend to create our own practises and sometimes we are not even aware of it.

Im a beginner witch and I can’t even tell you how much I related to this. The pressure of knowing everything all at once, the fear of messing up, it really spoke to me. I’m so grateful for u advice it actually helped me so much

As someone who has been practicing for 5 years, it is extremely confusing at first. There are still things that I don’t know, and it took so long for me to realize that real power and humility comes from curiosity (i.e. not knowing) which is why witchcraft is a practice. To anyone watching this, it is okay if you have to take a break from being overwhelmed, spiritual burnout, etc. Just remember who you’re doing it for. :)

I've been feeling a tug in the back of my mind pushing me to learn this. Last night, my intuition to buy a tarot deck was so strong. Today, I finally decide to formally explore witchcraft and I see this video and see that you currently have 222k subscribers. This is the final push. I'm doing this, LOL.

I love the fact that Witchcraft is not a religion as much as it is a way of life.

I am a beginner. I thought I messed up my first spell for relieving stress and anxiety. I realized I left something out, and used a container that was too small, and made a HUGE mess.... but I just laughed about it.

The spell didn’t go how I intend, but it worked regardless. I didn’t even start to stress about the mess. I just laughed and cleaned it up.

One thing that has been helping me is to follow the natural cycles like the moon and sun through the traditional pagan holidays. I’m more of a celestial type witch though. I do my practice by the moon, but I also celebrate the sun-marker holidays like Imbolc and Yule etc.
Just paying attention to the moon cycles has been helpful to me. But I personally don’t feel overwhelmed or perfectionistic about the work. It’s too personal to allow outside opinions and requirements space. Pagans and witches have been plagued by outside controllers and invasion for centuries, so no one is going to do that to me in my practice today. It’s a slow, personal path. Thank you very much 🌎🔥💧🌬

These seem like wholesome, self caring, mindful activities that are good for the soul. even disregarding the witchery and magic aspects it seems like a healing activity that gives time to the self

This helped much! I’m literally a BABY right now, just started a week ago! And my first fear was doing a spell wrong like just stuttering over a word, I was like did I just ruin everything???? Haha. Thanks SO much for these tips! I’m so grateful I found you right at the beginning of my brand new journey! Clearly I was brought here for a reason 😉

I felt very similar. For the longest time I thought something was wrong with me because the books I read in the beginning didn't make sense to me and I was anxious that this world I loved so much wasn't meant for me. It took me over two years to find my own path. The little corner of witchcraft and paganism that works for me. I wished I knew that this tiny corner was always there, I believed that there is just one strict way just like you and i tried so hard to fit in that my journey felt like a failure for a long time. I wish I would have known...would've spared me so much stress and anxiety. I wish I had people like you when I started out. Thank you for helping our witchy community. 💚🌿
