Building Gadgets 2 is officially released as v1.0 -- and brings with it a BUNCH of new features since the last spotlight video. Enough so that I decided to make another video :).

This is everything I’d want from a new version of building gadgets!
Everything I know and love is still there just as it was, working mostly the same ways, but with extra features, fewer bugs, and more eye candy!

It's strange that the cut and paste gadget's range is enough to destroy a entire mountain, but the destruction gadget's max is still 16x16. To destroy a large area, just cutting and then throwing the cut paste gadget into the trash can without pasting seemed like a logical solution to me. But of course it would be better if the range of the destruction gadget could be increased instead.

Nice little subtlety that blocks that need support, like grass get placed after the rest to make sure they stay.

Hey, i think this is a really cool mod, but theres one feature missing for the Building Gadget, kind of like a random place mode where in a space of for example 12 x 12 blocks it will randomly place blocks in there so you can easily texture stuff like roads, and you should have a meter on how tight the randomly placed blocks should be. This should be implemented for the surface and the wall modes, i really hope you do, have a great day!

You should add "the SNAP" animation to the mining gadget laser. That would be perfectly appropriate for disintegrating blocks.

Is there anyway to accomplish a gradient with Building Gadgets? Or, to create a random pattern of blocks from a selected list via Building Gadgets?

One thing I’ve always wondered about this mod, is there a reason why the build/destruction gadgets are limited to such a small size?

Tasks like terraforming and setting walls/floors for a base are definitely made easier with this mod, but any time I use it, I’m left wishing I could bump those size sliders just a bit further.

This is absolutely an amazing mod, and other solutions (like the Create creative worldshaper ) suffer from similar restrictions. I just wish it had just a bit larger reach.

This mod should probably include a charging block itself that can be fueled using something like coal and/or lava or maybe even redstone (because electricity) so it can be used as a standalone mod. I'm using it in a custom made Create modpack right now but I haven't included any electrical stuff or other crazy mods with most of the focus being on Trains from Create and as such don't have any power right now.

With no way to charge the gadget in the mod itself I'm forced to download a secondary mod for a single block to power it which may or may not cause me more problems. It's taken me like 5 days just to work out the kinks with my own modpack by upgrading or downgrading versions and adding/removing mods until it finally stopped crashing and adding literally anything is like poking the Demon Core.

Question:
With the template manager, could we get a functionality which allows you to select any item in the template (such as the wood type or stone type) and switch it with a different item? This would REALLY make things amazing. It would let builders hot swap pallets on the go, make minor variations, change decor, and so forth in a hurry, choose materials you have on hand in survival, or like make a town of similar but different themes by saving several versions and placing them at random to make cities.

A curious question popped into my head, if bound to AE2 and blocks are missing but autocraftable, will it autocraft? 😁
