How To Make A Blanket Fort

Note: These are just our suggestions and tips for building a successful fort structure, but we encourage you to be resourceful and get creative with what you have!

SUPPLIES
Sheets
Blankets
Cushions
Pillows
Chairs
Wooden dowels or broomsticks
Clothespins
Binder Clips
String
Tape
String lights
Electric tea lights
LED lights
Heavy Books
Entertainment
Snacks
Friends
Whatever else you feel you might need to make it cozy!

INSTRUCTIONS
Choose a location and clear a space for your fort.
Build the walls of the fort with the backs of chairs.
Drape blankets over the backs of the chairs.
Add layers of blankets to the floor between the chairs.
Line the walls of the fort with pillows and cushions.
Drape a sheet across the chairs to create a roof. Secure by placing heavy books on the edges of the sheet.
Secure dowels and broomsticks between couch cushions. Tie a string across them.
Drape another sheet across the dowels to create a second level of the fort. Secure the sheets together with clothespins or binder clips.
Use more dowels or sticks to raise the roof of the fort.
Add string lights (secure with binder clips) and other electric lights to the walls and roof of the fort.
Add a TV, laptop, books, snacks or other sources of entertainment (optional).
Hide in your fort for the rest of the year.

The only thing i hate about any fort is when u invite someone in and they ruin the ceiling and i hate the stick in the muddle always

Tips from the master🧐:
-Definitely use mostly sheets. They are lighter and probably bigger than most blankets
-If you’re allowed too, pin sheets to the wall you instead of completely using chairs and poles to give height to your fort
-If you have one of those weird bungee chairs, use it as a “window” for ventilation
-USE YOUR MATTRESS AS THE BASE. Especially if u wanna sleep in it, which I always do. Some forts I’ve made have actually stayed up for weeks cuz I think they’re so cool lmao
-Use a small bookshelf if you have one for candles and other storage. I place the books on my bed boards since I’m using the mattress!
I know most of you might not have all these specific things, but my point is to get creative!
