I have never seen this tactic in court before. When the defense realized they couldn’t challenge Mangena’s facts or theory, they resorted to gaslighting Mangena. Their expert now claims not to see the striae on the projection, despite acknowledging them during Mnisi's cross-examination. Crucially, the judge can clearly see the striae, and that’s what matters. This dubious behavior by the expert won't sit well with the judge, especially with three other ballistic experts expected to confirm the striae's presence.
