I'm seeing a lot of people asking about other things that this didn't fix so I'm gonna put this out there. I have no experience with this type of stuff, someone else showed me it and I wanted to post it to help others with my issue. If it doesn't fix your problem I'd very much suggest going to the official DayZ discord, or DayZ community discords and asking around for help, thats how I got this method, good luck!

I've been playing this game for years and it's only been the last year or so I've had problems. With over 4000 hours on this game I give up, I'm tired of watching "fix dayz videos" every time I want to play. I just listened to my friends play for the last hour while trying to fix it. I have 200 hours on dayz which i played maybe 5 or 10 hours and the rest TRYING TO FIX THIS GOD FORSAKEN GAME, i spend all my days and energy trying to fix this awful mess of a game while all my friends enjoy playing all night, my google and youtube are full of "how to fix dayz", everyday I discover more and more errors that I didn't know existed and it pisses the hell out of me how much this game needs very few reasons just to not work

Game is designed like garbage. I've played since 2014 and this developer still manages to screw it up. They have learned next to nothing in 10 years.

Can confirm this also worked for me. Looks like corrupted Steam cloud saves hence turning off cloud sync and deleting all character profiles.

Whenever I press play on a server in the launcher, it will say “ some mods recently updated “ and not launch, I’ve uninstalled and redownloaded all of em I just can’t get it to start

I’ve always ran into dayz crashing my laptop. This worked perfectly tho thanks so much man!!’ Only thing is it makes me delete the files again every morning any idea why it isn’t staying delted?
