There’s nothing wrong with going to a retirement home if you NEED it. Walt showed no signs throughout the movie that he was incapable in any way. And if there was any major heavy lifting required, he got his neighbour to help him out. They couldn’t have made it any more obvious that they just wanted the house, and were being insultingly patronising in the process.
