The ULTIMATE Blender/Unreal Workflow ( Update : Check Desc )

preview_player
Показать описание
there is lots of workflow guides for blender to Unreal engine but almost all fail to mention the official epic game maintained addon for sending data from blender to unreal this video is to go over the basics of getting the addon working but also goes over the most important settings which nobody seems to talk about .

if you found any value or have any questions please leave a comment and i will try, get back to you as soon as possible.

UPDATE : the BlenderTools Repo has been abandoned by epic game but has been forked and is still being worked on the repo now linked below you can follow steps without linking your epic account to get access to the repo and tools.

get Send 2 Unreal for blender 4.0+ below .NO NEED to LINK EPIC to GITHUB now . :)

This has been a genuine life saver for me. Great to see you're thinking about a 4.0 release!

Pressing "m" in object mode will move objects to a new collection. Negates the need for Machine tools and the Shift C workflow you're showing here :)

installed to Blender 4.0, Send to unreal is now called "push assets" under the pipeline menu dropdown, upon clicking push assets with everything enabled in unreal it says "FBX Scene Loading Failed : 'File is corrupted Cube.fbx' when exporting a default cube. Any ideas?

Update* It works in 3.6 but not 4.0 at the moment 18th Nov 2023.

Seems like a good addon. And that windows tip is gonna change my life. I had no idea you can store multiple desktops!

cool guide! also a suggestion maybe you can make a tutorial about altermesh too, which gives users the opportunity to import their geometry node setups into unreal!

Man, you are a lifesaver, I was fighting here for a couple hours trying to figure out, why my ªPushª was not working, and you were the only one who mentioned Place in the active level option 😂 😂 Thank you for the video!!!

thank you so much! I noticed how the other blender to unreal videos missed some topics. This is exactly what I was looking for! What about baking materials and animations in blender to unreal. For example a curtain moving in the wind. Objects moving etc.

I'm really glad I found your channel, I'm currently trying to learn Blender to swap over to free software! Your videos are packed with great information. Would love to see further Blender/Unreal pipeline info. and Blender modelling for Archivz.

Thank you for explaining all this! One quick thing: I'm pretty sure you can just use the M key (move) to assign objects to a collection, like it was in old Blender with the layers.

For anyone using Blender (4.0 +) Use the M key instead of Shift+C to move objects into Collections/Export.

I don't get why you need machine tools to move into collection I just press 'm' and can choose collection. It's faster, just one click and it work since 3.3 at least, don't remember earlier versions.

How do you import instances from Blender? For example, instancing geometry on points in Geo Nodes, and then push to Unreal. Nothing shows up.
I'm thinking either:
1. custom script it in Python
2. try to use PCG somehow
3. something I don't know about
