China’s Foreign Ministry called the forced recruitment of sex slaves by the Japanese military during the Second World War "an atrocious crime against humanity" on Tuesday. The remarks came after the Japanese government criticized the unveiling of a statue commemorating the struggles of the so-called "comfort women" in Shanghai.
