Flying The Drone Inside of The Glory Hole

I grew up in Davis in the 70's and spent a lot of time in the area while in high school. We regularly snuck around the fence and climbed on down to the glory hole exit and skate boarded when the water was low. It was not a great place to ride thanks to the seeping water and all the rocks thrown down the hole from up above. But it could be one of those 100 degree days and it would be nice and cool in the tunnel. We usually took our fishing poles during fishing season and caught a lot of fish at the base of the dam. You were not allowed to use salmon eggs for bait but we knew we would never get caught. The local Game Warden was in his 60's and probably 50# over weight. You had to be young and dumb and in shape to climb down there. Thanks for the video, it was good to see that area again.

I recognized it immediately! I grew up in Napa, and I would frequently go to Lake Berryessa for fishing. The water was well over the top of the glory hole, and there was no fence at the time. When I was a kid that "hole in the water" was the creepiest thing I could imagine.

Basic issues with drone control happens, for example: when the drone enters a Faraday Cage like steel reinforced concrete structures. Radio signals won't penetrate them from either side so either the drone pilot must be inside to work the drone or some kind of signal repeater fed via a hard line into it. It looks like the pilot figured it out and got us some great footage. Good job!

Thank you so much for this video! I was going a little nuts wondering how this overflow worked and the path the water takes. I had heard a duck got sucked through when the water was high and lived. I just could not invision how the overflow channel was situated. This really helped

Not sure why I was expecting something hella dangerous to be inside that water hole. Thank you for making this video. I always look at the water hole (Not sure what to call it) and I always think to myself if you ever fall inside that thing then something will kill you immediately like as if something like a propeller is inside spinning at high speeds...

I the 80’s a woman clung to the side and held on for life. There was only about 6 inches of water all the way around. People tried throwing ropes with no luck. She was eventually sucked in and died.
