Super sorry to get this out a day later than I was hoping, but I had exporting issues with my editing program! Regardless, I am very excited to share all my thoughts on this latest edition to Wings of Fire.

Today I'll be covering my thoughts on all that was added, as well as break down this new content. Ultimately, I'll come down to the question of if I believe this book is worth buying!

Small note about the horn on baby Clay's nose, is that my interpretation of it was an egg tooth of sorts. May reptiles have an extra sharpened tooth on the tip of their face that they use to slice open their eggs to hatch, which falls off shortly after.

Feels like I just paid 16 bucks for a book I already had with a bit of art and a wee bit of an extra chapter that was pretty easy to imagine. I could totally tell what the hatching scene would look like before I got it and I was spot on 😢

I’m lucky because everyone’s upset that they basically bought a book they already have, and so did I, but I read the first book in fourth grade and now it’s so beat up that I haven’t read it in years and absolutely needed a new one

i absolutely loved the extra chapter/og prologue! though i think the one she chose for the regular books was perfect for pulling in readers!

Reassurance for Australian fans! I can confirm that the book can be found in Australia, fairly easily. Every shop I've went to that sells books has had it somewhere on their shelves!

Also, Clay's horn is most likely an evolved version of an egg tooth. An egg tooth is a structure many reptiles are hatched with to assist with breaking through their thick shells, and falls off a while after hatching

The How to Train Your Dragon 20th anniversary edition, which was released in June 2023, is still in stores right now (or at least it still is in Dublin). I think it's safe to say that this book will be on the shelves for a long time.

I saved up specifically to get at least two copies of this book, one to actually look to and the other to keep in pristine condition, I'm very protective of my books so I wanna make sure it'll be safe

I can’t say that I’m surprised but it’s still disappointing that we didn’t get a little more. We already had a good idea of what the chapter would look like and Tui does interviews/QnA’s elsewhere. I can see why some people would like it but the cynical part of me is going “this is mainly an attempt by the publisher to get fans to buy the same book again.”

Im not gonna lie, I wish they made the prologue a Gn page like Warrior cats and how their super edition have some pages in the end with a comic/ GN page. That would be cool to see the OG prologue in a back and white or colored GN form in the beginning. But all and all, I love the LE book and although it didn't have much, it is such a keeper to have and a reminder of how us Fanwings came to be all those years ago.

I preordered mine as soon as I found out about it. It's being saved for my birthday so I haven't read it yet, but I have flicked through it and so far I'm really excited to read through it! As someone who has read every book in the series and has been longing to reread the first novel for a while now, I am overjoyed that I've gotten my hands on one! The cover is absolutely gorgeous and I cant wait to put it on my shelf when I finish reading it!

Thinner paper used and thinner cover. Thats why it’s popping up.

For example, gently shake the book grabbing from the non spine side to both paperback editions of the book (OG and this one) and the OG one is much more stiff.
