IF you are trying to completepy SHUT DOWN the phone rather than restarting- Solution is: Try the same thing but you need to see the apple logo 4 times. After the 4th time, release the power button. Iphone 13- iOS 17

Holding the power button only gets me 'type to Siri'. If I hold down the volume up and power buttons, I get the slide to power off, but if I keep holding that, it calls emergency services.

genius worked perfectly for my xr. never knew about this i alway had to go to settings, general shut down to turn off my phone!. i still will do that routinely less wear on power button but in a pinch when screen not working this is perfect ( just got my lcd repaired and because i didn't shut off phone and it kept flickering i was locked out of my phone by apple for an hour. i could have avoid that with this! thanks dude!
