I met this man in Vernon Hills, Illinois. I was at a shop next to where he pulled up with a friend in a super clean, baby blue Mercedes. I'm about 99.98% sure it was a video store. I couldn't help myself and went over and said hello. I did not need any kind of autograph; I just wanted to tell him I was a fan and I wanted him to have a good season and continued success. He was as affable as you could be.

And I am sorry to hear of his medical difficulties as his years advanced. Forever a hell of an athlete to me. And thousands of others.

Man I remember watching this amazing man play football back in the '80s he was my hero as a boy. I am the crowd going so wild when he would just steamroll right over everybody. Then you have to keep in mind William Perry is competing against the strongest and finest athletes on planet Earth and he just steamrolled right over them like they were paper machets. He is an amazing man and I'm privileged to have watched him play, this is a great video too.
