What a Real Minecraft Manhunt Looks Like

A REAL one

My Hunter: @ItsBent

Minecraft Manhunt is a challenge where a Speedrunner must beat the game before their hunter kills them, made popular by Dream. However, most of his manhunts have rules that change the challenge to be a completely different game. So I did a manhunt with my friend with no rules to spice things up.

I hope to do more challenges like this in the future and challenge other Manhunt youtubers to manhunts, as well as some very strong players. Subscribe if you want to see those.

That is not how it goes. Its actually is like this:
you kill the hunter in the beggining, you both grind gear and not see each other for another 30 minutes, the hunter catches up and you kill them, they leave the game.

every mcmanhunt player can relate

Either you're constantly under assault and die quickly. Or you managed to completely escaped them and they never find you again

I remember back when Dream only did 1v1 manhunts with George and sometimes George would win, or even kill him but as the “series progressed” George literally never once was a threat to Dream again, he literally dumbed himself down, you can see in the videos where he’s literally spam clicking when fighting Dream or runs away the second dream hit him once, it just felt like he was acting like a dumb idiot so Dream had an easier time and it really took me out of it, seeing the same George who beat dream in their 1v1 manhunts to a spam clicking screaming mess that he is now.

This reminds me of combat scenes in movie vs reality. In the movie the actors may spend 20 minutes fighting, jumping, and doing spins, but in reality it’s usually just who’s faster to deliver the first fatal blow, and everything is finished😂

I once joined a random guys server and we chatted a bit. Then we decided to do a manhunt. I was the hunter. Both got full iron, we fought, I lost. Died to him in the nether again because he was too stacked. Then came the endfight. We fought a bit but sadly an enderman killed me. I respawned in the stronghold with nothing but my bed, took it, went to the end and blew up both of us with the bed. It felt crazy ahaha

2:30 - dream vs illumina: dream got upset because his hunters usually break loops by giving him an out [look away and let him walk out, dying to him, or a shameless cut]. Nobody is as oblivious as a dream hunter aside from a storm trooper. But illumina is a top tier speed runner who refused to sell out

watching this as an unscripted manhunter myself, I can confirm that this is what most real manhunts are like

It’s important to note Dream’s friends know they need to keep dream alive for a decent amount of time to get a video, and therefore aren’t properly hunting, while dream works to not sabotage the hunters enough they lose any chance of getting him.

I didn’t know about the set seed rule… this really changes a lot. In my head, if he died early on and had to reset, they’d just reroll the world. Not restart in the same exact world. I always thought it was really weird how he’d always find stuff like a normal/warm ocean (the only ones with dolphins), ruined portals and villages as, whenever I play the game, it takes a long ass time to find all of that so close to each other. I understand that, ultimately, this is all for content and he needs some leeway and advantages, (banning bedbombing for example I completely understand and agree), but picking a set seed and then restarting on that same seed in case of early death is just planning an entire early game route at that point and not reacting to the world around him

Back in the day when manhunts were new, me and my friends did a ton of them. The runner never made it very far no matter who of us tried running.

Fun times

Me who hasn't beat the game myself yet in 10 years: 💀

Can confirm, I used to play a lot of manhunt. 90% of the time the runner gets beaten to death with a flower in the first three minutes. 9% of the time, the runner gets away and they never cross paths again for the rest of the run, or they catch you one more time, you kill them, and they rage quit. I've had maybe two manhunts with actual cinematic moments, and only one of those had an end fight (the hunter beat me to the end and tried to lava trap the end portal but I pearled out and killed them. then died from fall damage due to the dragon). The one time I actually won by killing the dragon, I lava trapped my nether portals and never even saw the hunter.

0:53 yes, that’s exactly what a manhunt would start like

You're just too good you don't even need to script your manhunts

One thing I dislike about scripted manhunts is that like the colour crew, you'll have one guy who's really good and the moment the worst player is the speed runner he always some how manages to defeat the best players plus 2 other guys

It feels like something scripted is going to happen in every single tense moment, but it literally just goes naturally

Some YouTuber once asked me to hunt him in a manhunt. He immediately cancelled it when I found a pyramid, got a saddle and diamond horse armour, and started chasing him on horseback.
It wasn't scripted enough for him where he was the one in power

as someone who's hunted men down for the better part of a decade, this is without a doubt the most realistic recreation in minecraft
