I tried using the M5 competition as a daily... I couldn’t, I just couldn’t!
Decided to upgrade to the current LCI M550i, same torque, and hp is indistinguishable!!! But I saved $40k!
I love my M550i. Happy BMW consumer here 😊

Can't help but acknowledge Mr. Barry on his M Sport-appropriate purple pullover. The M5 is overkill for a 2-ton passenger car but I can't fault BMW for flexing their Bavarian engineering biceps.

Interesting to see how BMW came back from rock-hard riding M5s and M3s, this “extreme” CS being more comfortable than the outgoing Competition. Probably the right choice for most buyers since this isn’t really a track car

If I had the opportunity to do whatever at BMW, I would make a bigger differentiation between 550i and M5, with one little trick: use flatplane crank on the M5…higher revs/more hp…and get that motorsport feeling engine, and let the 550i be the torque monster

M3s are more like 85k after options .this m5 cs will be a classic in 25 years and will probably be worth a million

I never was a BMW fanboy and I regard their community as the most toxic and annoying in the car world. I am a car nut and this is the perfect car, THE CAR and at this point my favorite thing that came out in this decade so far.
