How to sound more inspiring

Let me share with you a powerful lesson I learnt from my singing teacher that has helped me to become a more inspiring speaker.

By adding more melody to your voice, you become more inspiring and therefore more influential.

Speaking melodically also enables you to continue speaking for a long time. People whose voices grow tired when speaking, are not using their vocal chords properly. They tend to speak with a scraping sound which tires the voice very quickly. The more melodically you can speak the longer you can continue.

Vihn has such a beautiful tone to his voice. Deep, calm, gentle yet convincing. I do like to know if this was also learned or he already had a solid base to work from. As a professional female whose job includes a lot of public speaking, I intentionally lower my key as I prefer listening to it myself rather than consistently high one by other speakers on the stage. I have also learned to control gestures, although this is still a work-in-progress. Neither of which from a professional coach, but by observing other experienced speakers. I would like to improve my public speaking further, so Vihn has now become my professional coach 😊

I am using your examples in an entirely different way than you have probably expected them to be used! I do daily bible readings, but sometimes my mind wanders, so I started reading them out loud, which helped, but sometimes my mind still wanders. Today I breathed life into those words, as if I were reading a script with actual characters. It totally changed how I experienced the readings. It was as if listening to a live conversation with emphasis and emotion. I paid attention and had more insight. I over emphasized at first, but it settled into a good rhythm & effect level. I could see this method being helpful to study sessions of any type. Thank you for your videos!!!

sometimes when I speak----my voice naturally get higher/louder (I think it's a culturally thing, lol)---especially when I have a bunch of thoughts or ideas I want to express. people will say to me---"why are you shouting?" one relative of mine even said, "I can tell you're angry." it is/has been hard to explain to people that I'm not shouting and that I'm not angry---that my voice just naturally rises. so when he said there is an underlying meaning that lives under melody----I totally understand what he meant. it just gave a different/better perspective on why people were responding to me the way they were.
