Studio One has the best work flow. You made a great choice!

So, so happy that this video is even in existence!!! So many people WON'T think for themselves or outside the box and try other things. I've often said that ProTools wasn't the alpha and omega. Needless to say I got shot down quite a bit by folks who blindly followed the crowd.

When this first came out some 5 or 6 years ago, I knew this was destined for something big. I knew it would be a hard sell to get some folks to switch. But do people honestly think that EVERY song on the radio now was recorded with ProTools? (I guess many did.)

I recently upgraded to Professional since they had a half price holiday deal going. It's like I have a completely new DAW. I'm still learning all of the ins and outs but I love the flow of the program and the ease of drag and drop. Hopefully more folks will come on board and realize the amount of time they could save with this.

Again, I appreciate the video. Very good job!!!!

Here's another reason: PRICE!
Studio One 3 $399 (unlimited tracks) (5 licenses = 5 computers)
vs
Pro Tools $599 (limited to 128 tracks) (1 license that requires iLock for extra cost!)

You forgot to mention that protools and avid is just putting both hands in our pockets and that`s all they care about. These guys are not smart at all with even the subscription method when most other DAW are way ahead of them and people running towards them. Protools is a mess right now and no one can deny that.

Nice video. I am a Pro Tools user but I had a chance to work on Studio One for a bit. It really is a great DAW and there is a good chance I will switch. Just the fact that you can load effects and virtual instruments while you're playing without the audio skipping is such a blessing. This annoys me in Pro Tools to no end.

Like the quick rundown. I'm a S1 user and a friend is contemplating switch from logic to S1. This vid really highlights some of the things that makes S1 a creative minded thinking engineer's DAW. Thaks

Great video! Finally someone showing some real reasons for switching instead of just bitching on the DUC! The melodyne alone is a huge temptation to switch.

I'm just switching fom Logic to Studio One, and I agree with you that the ergonomics of the software are way better in Studio One. Thank you for the tips.

I've been using Studio one 3 artist for about 8 months and just upgraded to Professional yesterday! The artist version was already incredible, more than I could have hoped for so now there's that much more icing on the cake.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of Presonus Studio One 3 as well and also highly recommend it!

Been using Studioone from day one, nothing is more quicker and simpler when it comes to producing & mixing. Instantly Bouncing/printing midi tracks with "B" key or duplicating with "D" just small but very effective features, plus the look of it is better than anything out there in the market. Another awesome feature is extracting a midi from a music loop via melodyne absolutely brilliant.

Very helpful review! I've been a ProTools 8 user for the last 10 years and have been holding off upgrading my system for the last couple years because I can't justify spending loads of money on a new version of PT. I think I'm finally going to make the switch and your review really helped!

Hey thanks for letting us know about your switching from ProTools to Studio One right in the middle of your mixing session. Generous from you. Very clear demonstration here.

Thanks so much for the lookout man!
I am really loving my Studio One. I just need some great plugins to get me going.

Great review! Been at it for many years, back to ADAT and Sonar days & took a few years off. I jumped back in with Studio One & it's very intuitive, and much more efficient. No drivers for trusty M-Audio 1814, but I absolutely love it!

this software is definitely peaking my interest as a self taught logic pro 9 user who's about to go back to using a windows system

Awesome. I love Pro Tools because I know it so well, but this looks so convenient. I'll have to try it out.

Also in Pro Tools, you can click on a send, click New Track, and it will create all the busses for you :) this is still way easier, and so cool that you can click on any send and it'll bring up the plug rather than trying to find the aux.

In STUDIO ONE 3, how do I make the SAMPLE ONE loop appear on the piano roll with all its already marked notes; Ie with everything and MIDI, and not blank, as it always appears? REGARDS

Thanks, these tips were helpful for anyone interested in Studio One 3. (Former PT user here who made the switch a while back)

Yeah I just switched over after running PT 8LE for the last 7 years.

Program stability is great. VSTs are actually usable natively. No damn constant buffer under-runs. No out-of-the-blue error messages when everything was working fine before (this drive isn't fast enough to use as a recording volume, DAE can't get audio fast enough, this session was created in an earlier version of Pro Tools, etc). No having to disable your Wifi-card because it's causing clicks and pops in the recorded audio. Oh, and one other amazing feature (standardized in basically every other DAW out there)...

Automatic Delay Compensation. No more having to shift your bass tracks forward before bouncing. Offline bounce (not sitting through the entire song [and waiting for your audio device to crash] during renders). The ability to freeze track processing to perserve processing power. And also the ability to just export the stems. No more having to dig into your folder system to trash preferences every 3 days either.

PT's the worst.
