The lounge coach is impressive. But the sleeping accommodations appear rather old and the cost is astronomical!!! For $1800 you could travel in Amtrak's most expensive accommodation across the entire U S. Or, take the Canadian across Canada: 4 nights and 4 days!! Of course, your trip included tours.

The Cassiopeia was a sleeper train that ran 1, 200 kilometers between Tokyo's Ueno Station and Sapporo Station through the Seikan Undersea Tunnel. In March 2016, with the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen and the Seikan Undersea Tunnel becoming exclusively for the Shinkansen, Cassiopeia ceased regular service. Seven years have passed since then. Unfortunately, the equipment of the train seems outdated.
