Shot in 1 day on a Volume Stage in Los Angeles with Xelmus Apollo Anamorphics. No greenscreens. All the Live action work is straight out of camera without any additional compositing. The Full CG shots were done in Blender 3D.

A lot of wonderful people came together to make this happen and I've never felt the Star Wars fandom more than being surrounded by a group of people who would also geek out about colored Q-tips used as spectators in the Ep.1 Podracing arena miniature, or the blend of F1 racecars and motorcycle recordings in Ben Burtt's sound design for Anakin's podracer...etc. Star Wars inspired so many of us to be filmmakers and in many ways, made it possible too. It seems like every milestone in filmmaking innovation, like the LED Volume stage for example, is a byproduct of Star Wars, and we as indie filmmakers are the beneficiaries of these new tools and ideas. All that to say, I'm grateful to be makings films in world with Star Wars as an evergreen source of inspiration.

Honestly this would make a really good drama series as a stand alone. I love the idea of exploring the inner realities of Star Wars and how there could be a separate story happening amongst the rest of the galaxy.

I was one of the few people that thought the standalone “A Star Wars Story” films idea was great. Rogue One and Solo are much stronger films than the sequel trilogy in my opinion. Watching this trailer reminded me of those films, this would’ve been perfect. A slice of the Star Wars universe unconnected to the Skywalker saga, with its own style and aesthetic. I would absolutely watch this!!!Congrats on the great trailer!

This is genuinely a great pitch for a Star Wars movie! The politics of it are reminiscent of James Caan in Rollerball, becoming such a gladiatorial celebrity that a dissenting word from his mouth could destabilize an oppressive regime. Hats off for crafting a really cool film!

I've seen a couple Star Wars fan films, and they were good. When I first saw the trailer for the PODRACER, I got excited and was looking forward to seeing a fan film about Podracing. I was greatly disappointed when I read the description saying that the trailer was the entire fan film. This would have made a great TV series and could have been introduced new fans to the racing sport. Podracers vs Tie-Fighters, now that would have been something to watch. Podracing was only seen once in Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and returned in the 2022 Darth Vader comics. I think it's cool that there are fans who also enjoy Podracing as much as I do and want the racing sport to make a comeback. It would be really great if sometime in the near future, the writers give the racing fans a movie about Podracing. Maybe the plot could be about the person who created the racing sport and how it gathered the first generation of racers. You did a great job with Blender 3D, keep up the good work.

What the fuck, how is this so good? I've seen good fan films before, but this doesn't even feel like a "good fan film", this feels like a genuine $100M+ production. My jaw was on the floor the entire time. If you hadn't put fan made anywhere I would've literally thought this was a new SW show/movie *and* I would've been excited for it. It's so good it's nigh-indistinguishable from a major studio project. Great job to you and your team.

Guys... this was AWESOME!! I was literally just saying to someone that with the right pitch/script, especially with Drive to Survive being a big hit in areas around the world, I really do think a show like this could be absolutely incredible. I really hope this gets the cogs turning for a show/movie about podracing. I really think Disney are sleeping on a really fun part of the Star Wars universe by not focusing more efforts around covering Podracing. Well done again guys, amazing effort and the production was topnotch!!
