autotune can only better the pitch. but it cannot improve the rhythm, tone texture and energy

autotune and pitch correction can make a good singer great but it can’t make a bad singer good

There are no autotone, autotimbre, or something like that. So if you’re doing a vocal take and you’re aware that you’re not a very good singer or even if you’re a decent one, it’s best to be more conscious about your breathing, articulation, vocal placement, dynamics, and timing precision when doing a vocal take. Focusing too much on your pitch can take away a lot from those elements which are obviously more important.

if you know you have a naturally good-sounding voice, best believe that you can do well on a recording.

I prefer instrumental, but there's a key thing missing here (probably for time): Comping. 20+ "bad" takes, pull the best bits of each take, stitch it together, THEN use pitch correction software if needed. Much more natural, but this works in a pinch for a quick demo.

I heard a producer once say, give me a vocal take with conviction and I can retune the accidents. I think this is the best take because yes I think you did the proper steps to retune vocal track but it was lacking emotion.

More like "how to pitch correct". The auto tune part is not making the vocals right, it just make it tighter. Antares even say that about the graph mode on their product page. Sure the apps name is Auto Tune, but the process is not. I see Reid has a video on the differences too, sweet! :)
