In this video, we test out this 2-in-1 USB Type C/Micro USB to HDMI Cable adapter that actually works with any android phone or tablet!
I was very skeptical about this device but after a lot of testing, I can say that this works very well and it even supports Audio. So if you’ve been looking to add HDMI to your Android device to play Games, Emulators and Movies on a big screen TV this might be for you.
I test out the Moto G Fast, Samsung A01, and the Alldocube iplay40 in this video.

Wow! That is bloody impressive! There hasn't been a lower end phone or tablet with hdmi support for ages, in fact, I've had issues even with older devices with mhl supported. This probably isn't a game changer, but for the power users from poorer countries who wanted this for years, you've hit the nail on the head with this video!

A trick I use to add power is connecting an unpowered USB C hub then plugging a charger into one one of the USB ports. While I use a hub designed for MHL phones it works without its own HDMI out on non-MHL phones (my backup phone is non-MHL). That give USB storage and a place to connect wireless keyboard and mouse adapters like Logitech while leaving Bluetooth connections free. With a bit of thought you can make a surprisingly useful mobile desktop from a phone.

I was hoping that with usb-c becoming more as a standard thing, hdmi through usb would be a reality in every phone but even to this date is poorly used, like c'mom, every people could have a computer in their hands.

Of course ETA prime has this video. This is exactly what I was looking for. Display out should be standard for phones .

So this HDMI adapter is 200mhz faster and has 2x more RAM than the PC I had in 1996.

I NEED one of these. I have literally been searching for years for an adapter that does all of that. My Galaxy tab A is about to get a new use.

This has been the main thing I have looked for when buying a phone, to be able to play games thru hdmi without the lag that exist on wireless solutions, this has always lead me to few choices left and expensive ones, glad to see something like this happening

Works on Google Pixel 3XL, which natively does not have HDMI capabilities. I'll test Pixel 4 XL later, again no HDMI. I can't tell if there's any lag, though I haven't done any close examination. Casting to a Chromecast you can definitely see a difference, pixelation and lag.

Looks pretty solid. What impressed me is that for some reason the games showed little to no lag where the videos had a constant but small latency. Definitely works for your gaming on a budget phone use case. Good find.

5:09 Changing the phone's resolution to match the 16:9 aspect ratio will remove the black bars in landscape (true fullscreen).

ADB command:
adb shell wm size 1080x1920

To reset:
adb shell wm size reset

Mine arrived today!
Quick review:
1. Latency is great. Small notable lag, but way better in comparison to wireless
2. Sadly sound only over bluetooth. For me this introduces siginficant lag to the sound. Have to find another solution for this
3. Ease of use? 100%. Got that thing running in under 5 minutes.

I am so happy. Now my Samsung galaxy s10 lite can also be displayed over hdmi.

These were around for micro SD years ago. I have one that I used with my Galaxy Note. II. It is much less complicated. It is basically a multi-function hub with HDMI, micro SD & full SD card slots, a full size USB port and a micro USB port for charging. It didn't need any apps. You just attached it to an HDMI port but I don't think that it worked with all Android phones. It needed a protocol that only the higher end phones like Samsung had. I used it at home and took it to friend's houses to watch movies. That was long before smart TVs, Chromecast and before Android boxes were cheap and easy to get. I didn't play games with it but it worked very well for movies. I just pulled it out. Now I have to see what I can still use it for, maybe with a USB C converter.

crazy, the delay ingame is much smaller than on the phone menu

I'm actually getting quite awesome performance while casting from my PC to a TV screen. The lag being within 10-20 ms or less judging by my gaming feel - which is barely noticeable. It is important that one of the devices is connected via cable. Then depending on the distance to the router your minimal one way lag is 2-4ms and two way will be double that. Cable is pretty fast so you will also get the awesome experience. Also the TV monitor hardware is important. If you are pushing higher resolution the CPU needs to be stronger.

now _this_ is useful !
I was so disappointed when I found out that my last phone wouldn't connect to a PC screen for lack of HDMI over USB-C (my bad, I should have checked rather than assume it did so).
for me, a connector like this enables me to use my phone as a fully portable computer to write down articles with a bluetooth keyboard wherever I am and then, rather than transfering the file to my PC back at home, still use the phone to finish my work. Brilliant !
many thanks for the review !

Amazing I have always wanted this. I tried other adapters but they all need true HDMI to be present in the phone which is only for very expensive phones.

That was surprisingly impressive! Miracasting over wifi has always been dreadful, so it was eye-opening seeing how well this device performed. I was expecting to see a ton of lag and horrible compression artifacts but it looks almost flawless. It's stupid that manufacturers don't include HDMI-out by default in all Android devices, but this device certainly seems like a viable option. One thing, though: does this work with Netflix or other streaming apps that rely on DRM?

I would definitely recommend plugging it in to at least a 2A / 10W power supply. Considering the dongle itself requires power, your current setup would be delivering less than 5W to the phone which could cause the battery to deplete on some devices.
