95 Buchla 250e And 227e

In trying to get to know the new modules of my Buchla I decided to try something I've wanted to do for a long time, use voltage to address a sequencer. It's a very flexible way to get more out of 16 steps than one first might think. So I use te 250e in strobed voltage address mode, that is whenever it receives a pulse it jumps to the step corresponding to the current address voltage. By carefully adjusting the timing of the address voltage and the timing of the strobe pulse I get a pattern that takes a number of steps to repeat itself, thus making those 16 steps sound like many more.

I also use the 227e system interface to fade in and out of effects. Using the rear channels as dry and the front channels as wet you can get both stereo fading and effects fading at the same time. It's like voltage controlled effects on the whole mix coming out of the synth.

That effects fading is awesome and I can't make up my mind about "needing" it. Thanks for showing the S&H basics. Note, you can also use the 266e SRV section to S&H and send that to the 250e in continuous mode. One main difference is that the ALL pulse out only fires when the stage actually changes. I've asked B&A to make that happen in strobe mode too, but...

@boobtube356 Effect fades are of course possible with the 206e too if you don't also want stereo panning. At first I thought using the strobe pulse would be the same as what you suggest but after some thinking I know what you mean and agree, it would be very useful!

All Buchla is worth to buy! :) In my opinion though, a system consisting of 259e, 266e, 281e and 291e is the best four panel out there. A little out of your budget perhaps, I haven't added it up.

Yes! Great patch! I don't have a 227e - I use the 206e . . . been considering a second 292e to dedicate as an efx sub-mixer though

Thank you for the advice. I really think that 250e is the thing:) So i willl consider to build the system with that. Is that any other buchla module that makes this kind of sequencing work?

Great video:) What is your opinion about Buchla System 1? Is worth to buy? Good fun with this modules? Or you would recommend another Buchla start up set? I don't want to spend more money then System 1 overall. Thank you.

Well there is the 251e and third party stuff like the Eardrill Morphun that I'm sure could make something like this.
