Oatmeal and Honey Soap with Turmeric... How do you label the Lye? (cold process soap) Batch #12

Today I made my first oatmeal and honey soap. It was very easy. I added a little turmeric to make a swirl. The fragrance I used is Brown Sugar & Fig.

Ingredients:
-Water (12 oz)
-Lye (4.6 oz)
-Olive Oil (12 oz)
-Coconut Oil (10 oz)
-Lard (10 oz)
-Oatmeal (5 oz)
-Honey (.3 oz)
-Turmeric (.5 oz)
-Brown Sugar Fig FO (.3 oz)

Well, there isn't actual lye in your soap. Once it has been sponified it is no longer lye... it is soap. The molecules change. ALL soap has to use lye to become soap. Even the soap you buy at the store had to use lye.

Sodium hydroxide is added to the oils .. its reacts chemically with the oils to form soap.. Sodium hydroxide is not present in the final product.. it has long transformed into soap

The soap wasnt very attractive to the eye, i guess im going to have to work on mine, take my time 🙃
