How to find the DISEASE RESEARCH FACILITY | Subnautica

In this video, I will show you how to find a disease research facility using my favorite route.

The Disease Research Facility is a destroyed Alien Base located in a cave that can be accessed from the Lost River Junction and the Mountains Corridor. Built around one thousand years ago, sometime before the imprisonment of the Sea Emperor Leviathan, the main purpose of this Disease Research Facility was to infect creatures with the Kharaa Bacterium to study their reaction to the disease. The sole specimen surviving the Kharaa Bacterium was sent to the Primary Containment Facility for further testing to synthesize a cure for the bacterium.

The Disease Research Facility is heavily damaged, and unlike the other bases, is completely filled with water. It lies partially suspended by several loose-hanging cables, with several sections of destroyed cables found scattered around the perimeter of the Disease Research Facility. The base was attacked and destroyed by a Sea Dragon Leviathan (which is found dead via its skeletal remains outside the base) in an attempt to retrieve its stolen egg. This event also unleashed the Kharaa bacterium into the native ecosystem and prompted the Precursor Race to initiate their planetary quarantine by activating the Quarantine Enforcement Platform.

It is possible the Disease Research Facility was constructed partially to study the skeleton in the Bones Field - the remains of a three-million-year-old super-predator. This is evidenced by the fact that the Precursors had taken samples from the creature above's ribcage.

I just followed the instruction of the datalog "Alien Facility Locations", which says to go south west of canon platform. Once you're in the caves showed in this video, you actually go west/south-west (mostly west), but first you have to go south-east. To me, it's a game design issue. If you follow what the game says, you'll never find that facility.
Thanks for the video. Not really easy to follow since the Cyclops cameras doesn't show compass, but you're the first video I see which see the path you're supposed to follow (starting near the enforcement platform).

could you at least have had sonar on so we could see what you are showing us. it's not helpful showing us you beacon markers and saying ridge with grass when they are literally all the same.

Idk but I THINK this is where I'm supposed to go next. I just got poked by the funny machine and got location clues for 2 places. the gun shot down sunbeam already. I don't have a cyclops yet but I have a 300 meter sea moth. which wont get me far enough down... I'm assuming I should probably look for the cyclops fragments or something.

btw oyu could've made this tutorial way easier by starting from 0 point then placing a beacon at sea surface before you had to descend to find lost river
