So many Christians these days only ask for forgiveness but do not truly repent and then they wonder why they’re having such a hard time deepening their faith and why their prayers aren’t being answered! Not judging anyone, I’ve seen it in others’ lives and I’ve dealt with it myself. My pastor says to repent is to ask for forgiveness and turn 180 degrees away from that sin.

Repentance gets a bad rap... thanks for bringing some clarity!

I've always found these three pictures helpful in my understanding.
1. Repentance means to do a u-turn
2. Repentance means to plead guilty
3. Repentance means to accept the invitation

Essentially to repent means to admit you were wrong, change your way of life, and live as a citizen of heaven. It's more about actions we take, not the words we say.

We really are on the same page sir. It is the most controversial topic and term among Christians nowadays. Misinterpreting repentance to works. For me as additional, repentance is realization of one's fault and wanting to make it right. True repentance leads to genuine faith to the Saviour thus "Genuine Salvation".

Jon, love the video! Just want to say New World Translation which you had on at 1:00 is one of the Jehovah Witnesses. Now I'm hopefuly you know this but people respect your channel and you so they might take that as a legitimate translation of the Bible when in reality, Jehovah Witnesses changed the translation when they saw that their beliefs contradicted the legitimate translations of the Bible.
