You should also mention how SALVATION can NOT be lost...
And how we are "SEALED untill the day of redemption".

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 7:9, "Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death." So, yes, repentance is a changing of the mind BECAUSE of Godly sorrow. The Godly sorrow comes from recognizing your sin. Because you recognize your sin, you are sorrowful. Your Godly sorrow, according to this scripture leads to the changing of the mind. Therefore, to deduce that repentance does not include being sorrowful for your sin is disingenuous because the Godly sorrow actually helps to produce the repentance God requires.

Amen! It is easy for us to fall into error after years of hearing about showing fruit, avoiding recurring sin, ect. Next thing you know we are trusting ourselves for salvation and there is doubt! Keep it about the savior and not the sinner. Galatians 3 has a great discussion on this.

He forgot the next sentence after saved by grace thru faith not works BUT unto do good works. Those that are truly saved WILL show fruit.

I trusted in the Lord of Jesus Christ as my personal savior into my heart through faith alone, and not of works, by accepting his free gift of salvation, by his grace on February 16, 1996, each day, I confess sins for process of sanctification, to receive Jesus Christ as your personal savior, please refer to Matthew 10:28, John 3:16-18:36, 5:24, 6:37:47, 10:27-29, 14:6, Acts 2:38, 16:30-31, Luke 15:10, Romans 1:16, 3:23, 4:5, 6:23, 10:9-10:13, Ephesians 2:8-10, and Titus 3:5. God bless the world, and thank you for sharing.

So there are two ideas of repentance found in the old testament, and there is two that are found in the New Testament we see that God was sorrowful that he made man upon the Earth, and then God simply changed his mind of what he would do and he did it not in the New Testament Paul talked about a repentance, a godly repentance, a change of direction which was directed to the Corinthians. They were living in sin, and they had a godly repentance, and then the other repentance found in the New Testament is to turn from dead, works and faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

This is misleading because it is only associating Repentance for unbelievers.

Repentance is not just changing your mind one time, signifying one’s conversion from unbelief to belief.

What about the need for Repentance in response to God’s chastening? And all the times in scripture where Repentance is directed at the believing, but backslidden, lukewarm believers who are in sin, and in error?

Rev 2:5  Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Rev 2:16  Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Rev 2:21  And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

Rev 2:22  Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Rev 3:3  Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Rev 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Yes, it means a “change of mind”. It’s not just a one-time born again event, however.

Luk 5:32  I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

Heb 6:6  If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Same in the OT too, where not only people but nations are called to REPENT!

If my people….Repent…Right?

2Ch 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Daniel 9:13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.

Eze 18:30  Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

Ezekiel 18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Hosea 12:6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

…..it’s continuous. Repentance doesn’t stop.

Are you without sin?

The HOLY SPIRIT taught me here for repent 🗡️8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; 10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I wou

A true repentance is done once.
If you still sin,
Jesus is calling you to repentance.
If you still sin,
You are still under the law.

Amen preacher. I'm tired of the phrase, "repent of your sins." It doesn't exist in the Bible.
