Blessed All Soul's Day! Take a drink of water (or a spirit of your choice) everytime Benji is rude. Let me know how you plan to celebrate (and say hi to Stink Cat) in the comments.

Y'all are EDUCATING ME in the comments! I love it! I love to see it! I wish I could pin multiple comments for the sake of everyone learning, but instead I will pin this one and encourage you to scroll through to see multiple commenters weigh in! TLDR: England is not Celtic, except for Cornwall, Wales does not celebrate Samhain, Samhain originated in IRELAND and is still celebrated to this day, there are most likely similar traditions in other Celtic nations, All Soul's Day and All Saint's Day are TWO DIFFERENT DAYS! All Soul's Day is on November 2nd while All Saint's Day is on November 1st, and All Hallow's Eve is on the 31st of October (separate from the aforementioned holidays). Add on if necessary!

As far as Historians can tell... it was a Pan-Celtic (All Celtic Country) holiday.

Can I just say I love how you fact check yourself instead of doing that thing most youtubers do and saying "I think, I'm not so sure, don't quote me on that" 🥰

As a baby witch, I wasn't sure what to so for All Hallow's Eve, but when I found your video, it sounded a lot like the traditions we have in Mexico for Dia de Muertos! We create altars for lost family and friends, we light candles, leave food out as offerings, and visit graveyards where we celebrate the ones we lost and how they lived. We break bread together, dance together, and stay respectful of our ancestors visiting us. I guess I never thought of how close ancient Halloween traditions can be to Dia de Los Muertos. It's fun to think how the macabre is definitely all around the world, and we each approach death with respect yet fascination. Every nation just shows it in different ways.

Ireland claims to be the birthplace of Halloween. I think the significant origins of Samhain originated in Ireland and other ancient celts contributed to the evolution of the familiar traditions. So I think you could either say Ireland is where it originated, or just among the ancient celts as a whole.
Edit to add: I'll be taking my mini goblins trick-or-treating, hopefully spending some time in nature if weather permits, and remembering my Mom who passed on Nov 1 six years ago 🧡💐

Thank you! I'm a baby witch, and I was just thinking about what to do this year!

Edit: I'd love to see a graveyard etiquette video if/when you get the chance!

I attended a Samhain ritual through the Temple of Witchcraft this evening and I, too, will visit a graveyard to honor my mother who passed two years ago on Samhain. I’d love a video about graveyard etiquette, too, puh-leaze!

the Celts made it to the Iberian peninsula too, so especially in the north of Spain there are celebrations that derive from Samhain. I mean, there are different celebrations all over the country for All Saints Day (mostly centered around honouring our deceased loved ones and eating autumn goods), but the Celtic influence is specific to the northern regions and it affects other celebrations throughout the year as well

Your dog dropping his ball on the ground gave me chuckles which I really needed during this terribly heartbreaking and truly scary time in my family's and my life. Thankyou for your excellent explanation of samhain/all hallows eve and all saints day.

All Hallows' Eve is also a great time for contemplating your own mortality. I use it as a yearly reminder to review my advance directive, will, and death plan. If your are looking for more traditional activities, you can make soul cakes, donate your time or money, make a lantern to guide lost souls, and sing traditional souling carols.

I'm glad folks were here to point out the two different holidays.

Celts originated in Western Europe. It's really interesting how far the Celts have travelled. They even made it to Turkey. I find it kind of "sad", that they are mostly associated with Ireland.

Hi Frankie I just wanted to say I discovered your channel like two weeks ago I think and I just want to say I'm absolutely obsessed with your content! I've been binge watching a lot of your videos and you've helped me learn so much. The first video I watched by you was talking about saints and it completely changed the way I do my practice now. Thank you for showing me the wonders of folk magic and everything it has to offer. I can't wait to see what other content you make 😊 ✨new fan!

All Soul's Day in Switzerland is usually celebrated on the 2nd November but since only the Toussaint (All Saint's Day) on the 1st is a holiday here, we usually go on the 1st in the cemetery and we care for the graves and light candles and buy chrysanthemum to put on the graves. I plan to go with my family on the graves of our passed ones and I want to light some dressed candles and that's probably it. ♡

For All Hollows Eve I spent the day with a friend. We had fun. I had a pain flare for Dias de los Muertos so I just did NaNoWriMo. But Yesterday I took some time to put a very small sculpture, a candle, and a cake in a spot on the Minecraft server I play on for a fellow person of our community that passed away in 2020.
