Some Amiibo Figures Are Going Bye-Bye - The Know

God. Damn. It Nintendo.

I just bought my first Amiibo (Kirby) to see how I felt about it, and I really liked it and decided I'd get around to collecting them all at some point when funding allowed it. Now I literally need to stay on top of things and go spend money on them NOW if I want them at normal human prices. Like Wii Fit Trainer and Villager were both super low on my priority list as well so it looks like I have to forego getting the one I actually wanted for a bit longer.

I'm not surprised by this. I am surprised that Marth is one of the first to go though seeing as all the figures (so far) have been based on the Sm4sh roster and Marth has been a key character in Smash since Melee

Yeah.... If Nintendo actually manages to have all the amiibos sell out, something tells me they won't just not meet the demand. That's like saying if all of a suddenly every WiiU sold out they'd just stop making them entirely. Not likely.

Also, I have a feeling Nintendo is likely going to cycle these characters so that when they do come back people are all excited and go throw their wallets at Nintendo.

Thank god!!! I was able to find a really obscure place that I used to buy transformers from that had Marth, the Wii Fit Trainer, and the Villager all for normal prices! The only sucky part is that they don't ship until January... because reasons.

I'm still on the fence about Amiibo. The only thing is, if I were to buy them, I would want them all. This news is tempting me to buy them all now. Its not really about the money its more about having more plastic stuff around, I went all digital with games for this reason.
I don't foresee a time when these would ever be rare.
