DVC – Mechanical behavior of biomaterials

Better understanding of biomechanics! Be it for osteoporosis or fracture, the inner mechanics of the bone is of critical interest for clinicians and researchers! The digital volume correlation (DVC) system from LaVision allows full volume displacement and strain field analysis as well as Poisson’s ratio estimation during bone compression.
The presented results are in collaboration with Prof Martin Browne and Dr Faye Hackett, Bioengineering Science Research Group, University of Southampton.
