As a trombonist this sounds really useful but it also looks like a fun party trick to blow bubbles for an unlimited amount of time

"Make a face like a puffer fish" that step is the one that leads to success

I have done this for years. After a while, you can do it without puffing your cheeks. Try holding water in your mouth, then spitting it out like you did as a kid while swimming. Do not puff your cheeks. Try this with air on your instrument. Good luck!

Holy shit this is so cool ❤❤ I've been wondering how circular breathing works for years and never took the time to look it up until just now. And for the first time I just did it successfully because it makes perfect sense😊 and I feel like I could do that for days with practice, but so far I've only gotten a couple of seconds or so.. Ya know. Small steps.. Seriously though, thanks for this. It was VERY cool❤❤❤

Oh, thank you!! I'm re-learning the oboe after putting it down for over 30 years (yikes I'm old!). I'm starting to get this circular breathing! You know what did it for me? It's when you said, "Breathe in or OUT through your nose at the same time as you expel the air from your cheeks.". I managed to breathe out through my nose while keeping the bubbles going, and then just automatically starting breathing IN with my nose after that. Yea! I didn't drown ;)

I’m having trouble making sound on my instrument like when i blow with my cheeks puffed it works it makes a raspberry sound and I’m able to do it with water, but on my sax the sound won’t come out 🙏🏽

veramente brava ! grazie ...molto chiara ... forse dovresti aggiungere l'istruzione "stringere la cannuccia con le dita per far passare poca aria.

Do you have any tips on how to get over that „breaking point“ when you go from cheek air to lung air again?

So if you’re circular breathing, you’re not actually breathing through your mouth? You’re using your cheeks to make an air bubble and then closing off your throat to breathe in before opening it up again to refill your cheeks to continue

This was helpful!! Do you know how to incorporate it to your instrument? I play flute so it sounds very airy on the parts I have to breathe in on

my problem is that i can do circular breathing with a straw, but when i do it on my saxophone mouthpiece, i keep cutting off the air

I can circular breathe into the water like you're doing, but I play the flute so my mouth is open and it makes it hard for me to puff out my cheeks. I find that any extra air that I try to make my cheeks puff with just comes out of the hole in my mouth. So once I've gotten circular breathing right, how do I make the transition to playing an instrument with it?
