When H&H Deputy Editor Emma Reddington purchased her North Vancouver house in 2021, it was lacking the West Coast spirit she was hoping for. “I really wanted a post and beam house,” she says. See how Emma and designers Darcy Hanna and Emma Sims of &Daughters brought the mid-century home back to its roots by adding in plenty of cedar, custom elements and a mix of modern and vintage finds. “Biophilic design is a really big thing right now and cedar is a great way for us bring that nature from outside into our house and give us a sense of well-being.”

House is way too dark with all of that cedar inside. I wouldn't have gone that route but glad she's happy with it.
