I have a cousin who works at the Grand Wailea resort here in Hawaii ( one of the top resorts in Maui ) and he said that there manager let them know literally a couple days ahead of time that Johnny and his family was staying the week. Apparently the manager made it a rule that none of the staff were ti ask for pictures and autographs. When Johnny showed up and the manager and staff greeted him and chatted a bit he looked at all of the staff and said “ I bet he ( the manager) probably told you lot to not “ bug “ me for autographs and pictures huh? “ and he graciously not only took pictures and signed autographs but tipped each and every one of them $100 just after meeting all of them. That’s literally just one of the many positive stories I’ve heard of him when he visits the islands. Celebs like him, Adam Sandler, Jack Black, Tom Brady and Rihanna are notorious for visiting Hawaii and have nothing but positive interactions with the locals.
