1. my beagle never howl at home but makes sure people on the opposite side of the door gets deaf!
2. i walk my beagle off leash than on leash. great recall and she makes sure to check her 6 to make sure i am coming too
3. she is a guarding dog in a beagle clothes. makes sure i wave to acknowledge the person on the trail otherwise that person is not going anywhere.
4. training was a bit of challenge. i ultimately gave up on "paws" "roll over" etc. she comes when i call right away. she sits everytime i ask her to but never over 5 seconds haha but, thats all i want. i want her to come around while hiking and she sits to wait for people get off the elevator.
5. they have great character and very strong mind of their own.

one time, after we hiked, we got into a restaurant and i ordered a beer (bad idea when you are tired) when i tried leaving the place, she wont come, she would play bow etc so i got curius and went over to the table we were sitting and i see my backpack hahaha i dont knwo if she is looking out for me or the fact that there were her treats in the bag we will never know :)

I love my Beagle. A four year old named Dixie! She is a quiet dog for a Beagle and usually does not bark or howl. She may bark occasionally when she wants to be let outside or when she sees a strange person. But other than that, she is a very quiet dog for a Beagle.
