SpaceX performs historic first spacewalk with Polaris Dawn crew

SpaceX pulled off its first spacewalk in the early hours of Thursday morning, in a historic first for a company.

The marquee event of the private Polaris Dawn mission went smoothly, with two of the crew members — Jared Isaacman and Sarah Gillis — stepping outside of SpaceX’s Dragon capsule “Resilience.” It’s the first time civilians, rather than government astronauts, have performed a spacewalk.

Definitely something you would never forget if you had the chance to do this. Wishing a safe journey home and seeing some interviews from the crew and passengers.

More like a pop-out the hatch and have a look-see instead of a "spacewalk", but still a great achievement for private space travel and folks who aren't trained/professional astronauts.

I applaud this but it wasn't technically a space walk.. did he ever leave the vehicle?

this is neat. does it in anyway help accelerate our touching on the moon (again) and mars?

Looking at the footage from the helmet camera, he only glances at a small part of the horizon during the exit. He avoids looking elsewhere. If I were exiting the capsule, I would instinctively look around and take in the view of Earth first. That didn’t happen, which makes you wonder why. And all of this in terrible image quality, which reminds me of the Apollo program... Once you start with small lies, eventually, you can’t get out of it anymore...

The crazy thing is that the “astronauts” probably couldn't tell if they are in space or in a huge facility staged as space.

52 years ago 1000 times further away on the Moon they played golf,
fell over and got up without one and rode a buggy around without an attachment (?)
Ah I get it back then it was filmed here on Earth … and we all believed they actually went there…
