I think much of fasting and prayer is us letting go of ourselves and fully depending on God and seeking Him first, through obedience. If we fall to our knees and pray, together with cleansing our bodies from refined sugars and such, God will clear our mind and thoughts and we will be ready to hear Him speak to us through His Word and listen to His guidance.

Great insights Brian, thank you for sharing this. We're embarked on a 21 day liquid fast right now and are looking forward to God breaking through some immovable circumstances. However, it's great to hear someone expounding on the differences between the fasts.

Oh wow, I have never heard this before. I didn't even know different fasts do different things. This is so cool. I've been led at times to do a Daniel fast but felt like maybe its not as effective. Knowledge is power. Thanks Brian. You have just opened up something so profound to me.
