'06 kid here, turned 18 abt a month ago and something abt it made me realize how grateful i am that my parents raised me as a 90s kid
i had my dads old gameboy, my aunt bought me an easy bake, me and my friends went insane over bouncy balls and tattoo chokers and rainbow loom bracelets and those rubber jumping frog things that were giving Kris anxiety and so much more, my first phone was my mums old samsung that still had a slide out keyboard, theres still a simon says and jenga in our game cabinet
basically im just really thankful i got to experience all that before technology took over all our lives

For the Gameboy, you can easily reorder the internal port and replace it. My partner makes custom Gameboys for us that work and replaces the screens with light ones. They are so cool.

so, about 7 or so years ago, I was at my best friends house for a Halloween party. They had a Bop It original (with just the bop, twist and pull). I was sitting in her kitchen, and I was playing the Bop it. At some point, I had zoned completely into the game, and I didn't notice that everyone else was also watching me. The speed increases when you do long streaks. I got to 99 before I fucked up when someone made a loud noise. Apparently, I kept the record on that Bop It until it died. No one was able to beat 99 and I feel like that is my greatest childhood achievement in my adulthood lol
