What Is The Waqf Board Amendment Bill?

Waqf Board News Today: A contentious bill to amend 44 sections of the Waqf Act of 1995 - including changing it ensure representation of non-Muslim individuals and Muslim women in central and state Waqf bodies - is likely to be tabled in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, top government sources said this morning.
Another bill will be introduced to abolish a 1923 Waqf Act.

Copies were given to Lok Sabha members Tuesday night ahead of its introduction.

The amendment will also rename the 1995 law as the Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development Act. Sources told NDTV the overall goal is to better manage Waqf properties, which refer to land set aside, under Islamic law, for religious or charitable purposes.

As per Quran Surah 7:54, Allah is the owner of the Earth as the creation and the command belongs to Him alone. This is a belief and not a reality.

Surah 7:54; “Indeed your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then established Himself on the Throne. He makes the day and night overlap in rapid succession. He created the sun, the moon, and the stars—all subjected by His command. The creation and the command belong to Him alone. Blessed is Allah—Lord of all worlds!”

Waqf Board should not have the authority to decide the real ownership of a disputed land as Quran is part of a belief system. Therefore, like any other real issues, land dispute resolution should be with the Supreme Court. And the legislation by the Congress Government to appease the Muslims is wrong and should be amended / reversed.
