I feel bad for Goob. Losing a game(regardless of the sport) is something that almost anyone would be upset about.
Obsessing on mistake(s), whether his own or that of others, does a lot more harm than good

I love how him not moving on mentally was also showcased by him not moving on physically. He never left the orphanage even though he could and should’ve, always wearing the outfit he wore when he lost even when it was too small and filthy, highlighting how he never moved on from the moment he lost the game. Amazing demonstration of his character. He’s probably the most fleshed-out character in the entire movie.

Not gonna lie, I honestly think Bowler Hat Guy might be among the best Disney villains. He's very entertaining to watch, has a great connection to the movie's message of "keep moving forward", and his backstory manages to be petty and funny, but also sad, relatable and even scary at the same time. He's probably the most underrated Disney villain.

When I was a kid first watching this movie, the reveal of Lewis being Wilbur's dad was legitimately the first time I ever saw a major twist like this in a movie and my brain could not comprehend it.

I just realized that instead of using the time machine to get revenge on Lewis, he could've just woke himself up on the ninth inning and fixed everything. But two things stopped him from doing so. For one he is incredibly stupid and is living through his childlike dependencies, and two his hatred for Lewis was too strong and prevented him to think about anything else.

- Bowler Hat guy is Goob

He’s Waluigi, Doofenshmirtz and the Thin Man transformation all wrapped up together as the most entertaining villain ever… but then you realize how unsettling his motivation is, because it’s actually realistic.
He never let go of one failure and allowed it to define his life to an insane degree… 2005 literally predicted the future, I suppose that makes sense for a time traveling movie.

I think Goobs lying when he says that everyone on the orphanage was moved except him, i think he either refused to join the others when they asked him to come with them or he hid away from the others. Goob said to Lewis/Cornelius that everyone hated him despite the fact that some kids actually was very nice to him and wanted to be friends, which means that Goob was lying because he felt so bad for himself, so Goob brought all this on himself instead of moving on.


Ps: For those who know details and wonders how Goob got food despite being shown to live in that room for so long, either he stole it or he got it from secret people he didnt talk about, probably for reasons only known to him.
