WHY RADIATOR FAN STAYS ON ALL THE TIME

If your radiator fan stays on all the time when the car is started or with the ignition being on we will explain what is causing that. Radiator fan should not stay on all the time. The radiator fan is supposed to be activated at certain coolant temperature or the radiator might be on if you have the AC turned on. We will demonstrate what could cause that and show you how a bad temperature sensor made our radiator fan stay on all the time.

I've been chasing this problem in my ram 1500 for almost a month... Turns out the relay was loose! Thank you so much. I was about to replace the whole fan...

When cars used to have basic controls it was a far better world, too many fancy sensors and electronic shit these days.

Good tips and you go straight to the point. Others talk for up to 14 minutes before they go to the issue. Time is gold.

Thanks! You saved me a trip to the dealer. Mine was a bad high-speed fan relay. 1 minute fix once I got the part.

There are good problems, bad problems and fatal problems in a combustion car. When a radiator fan is not turning On know that you are having a fatal problem but when the a radiator fan is alway On then that's a good problem. A bad problem is when you had installed new parts and checked everything but the problem persist.

Thanks guys for the idea to check the Relay for the fan !

For my kia 2017 I just take it out / shake it few times and put it back! Work's great!

Probably I need a new one soon 😅

Take care and continue with good work!

I has an ambient sensor code . Both Fans turn on instantly at high speed. I rushed and changed sensor . Didnt work. Tested old sensor ohms and it was working. Tested power to sensor and nothing. Found wires cut. I tested voltage again and there was no power kept tracing the wires. Found it cut in another place . All fixed . And now fans works as required .

Just had this with my car changed the 2 temperature sensors fan was still on. Then changed the resistor. Fan was still on. Bought a new thermostat comes complete with housing unit £17.89 of eBay stuck that in myself pure easy 3 bolts. Seems to have done the trick. My fans off. Warning light is off car running like a dream. You also have to top up coolant so buy 2-3 litres as you lose almost all of it when changing the thermostat. X

In the case of a faulty temp sensor, would the temp be reported accurately in the driver’s console? Thanks for the video!

I brought my car to the mechanic to check out the AC but he messed around with the relays and now the radiator fan will not turn off( when car is on ). My engine light isn’t on either please let me know what can be the problem. The mechanic didn’t know what’s wrong either

Hi
2009 BMW 328 got p0598 (thermostat circut low) mpg went down from 23 to 19 now. When I drive little fan comes on and never stops. If you have experienced such code from your experience what it could be? One machenic told me it is thermostats.

For me,
Radiator fan - Ok
Coolant temp sen - replaced (genuine)
Thermos - removed
Engine light - (coolant temp sensor 0013)
Diagnostic, data stream constantly shows 80*C even when cold, temp gauge on the cluster gauge is ok. Can’t find the issue,
Vehicle: Nissan Patrol GU - 2001 - ZD30
