Stop Lying To Yourself | 10 Weight Loss Lies I Told and the Truths I Faced
Показать описание
In retrospect you may want to watch this in 1.25 speed LOL
Howdy! Here are 10 weight loss lies I used to tell myself and how I faced the truth. Please note - I am against fat shaming and fatphobia. I am body positive and do believe it is possible to be body positive while on a health journey that includes weight loss. I am not intending to shame anyone or make anyone feel negatively towards their body, heart, mind or soul. Please also note as I say in the video my main priority was and is my health, everything else such as physical attributes come after.
I've lost 85 lbs so far, as many of you know I have Hashimotos disease as well, and I'm still going strong!
TIMESTAMPS:
0:00 - Intro and Background
0:45 - Lie 1 It's impossible
2:00 - Lie 2 I know what to do
3:10 - Lie 3 Hiding in Clothes and Makeup
5:24 - Lie 4 Mental and Physical Wellbeing
6:30 - Lie 5 Too Stressful
8:25 - Lie 6 Too Expensive
10:14 - Lie 7 Looking at Other Fat People
12:14 - Lie 8 Didn't have Time
12:58 - Lie 9 Too Small
14:55 - Lie 10 Previous Injures
16:34 - Discipline is Key
17:57 - Focus on Overall Wellness
18:13 - Focus on Health vs Weight Loss
19:05 - Close out
Bullets:
1. It's nearly impossible, so why bother. Answer: It's not impossible, just more difficult and that's OKAY. It's going to be difficult but I can handle it.
2. I know what to do. I've lost weight before, so I don't need to learn anything. Answer: Clearly nothing was working so I needed to humble myself and do research.
3. Clothes and makeup were hiding what I was unhappy about. Answer: Not taking care of myself and trying to hide and remaining unhappy is NOT loving myself.
4. Self hating as a solution. Answer: That creates more mental issues. Love myself internally and it'll shine outwards.
5. It was too much stress to be strict on myself and I refused to give up flavour and events revolving around food. Answer: I need to accept the fact I'm different and think of food differently.
6. It's too expensive. Answer: It may be more expensive but again, research and find ways to be creative or cost effective. It can happen, plus my health means more to me.
7. Other people are heavier than me so I'm fine. Answer: Stop judging and looking others and stop perpetuating negative energy towards others to hide my own issues.
8. Didn't have time! Answer: I had time, I just had to plan my day better and more consciously.
9. Don't wanna get too small~ Answer: again stop looking at others. This was a bs excuse that was not truly in my head, just something I would say to shame others in order to avoid facing my own reality.
10. I experienced injuries in the past so... f it! Answer: Gave up too quickly. Listen to my body and find the proper way to heal and exercise together.
Closing thoughts: DISCIPLINE will carry you through when Motivation waxes and wanes.
